Second National Health Campaign: Pharmacy First at Chudleigh Pharmacy
From Monday 2 February 2026 to Sunday 22 February 2026, pharmacies across England will be taking part in the Second National Health Campaign as part of the 2025 to 2026 NHS programme. This national campaign focuses on promoting the NHS Pharmacy First service and helping patients access fast, convenient NHS healthcare through their local community pharmacy.
Chudleigh Pharmacy is proud to support this campaign and help patients in Chudleigh get the right care at the right time.
What Is the Second National Health Campaign
The Second National Health Campaign is delivered through the Community Pharmacy Contractual Framework in partnership with NHS England and National Pharmacy Services. The aim of the campaign is to raise awareness of the healthcare services available at community pharmacies and to reduce pressure on GP surgeries and urgent care services.
During the campaign period, all pharmacies actively promote the Pharmacy First service to ensure patients understand when and how their local pharmacist can help with everyday health concerns.
What Is the NHS Pharmacy First Service
Pharmacy First is an NHS funded service that allows patients to receive professional healthcare advice, clinical assessment and, where appropriate, NHS funded treatment for certain common conditions directly from a community pharmacist.
This service makes it easier for patients to access NHS care without needing to wait for a GP appointment for many minor illnesses. Pharmacists are highly trained healthcare professionals who can assess symptoms, provide treatment advice, recommend suitable medicines or refer patients to another healthcare service if required.
Why Use Pharmacy First in Chudleigh
Many people still contact their GP as the first option for common health conditions. The Pharmacy First service is designed to make access to NHS care quicker and more convenient.
By visiting Chudleigh Pharmacy, patients can receive expert advice locally and without unnecessary delays. Using Pharmacy First also helps support the NHS by reducing demand on GP appointments and hospital services.
