The service
Vitamin B12 is essential for healthy red blood cells and a healthy nervous system. Some people cannot absorb enough of it from food, and for them, injections are the standard way of keeping levels topped up. We provide that service locally, in our private consultation room, at a time that suits you.
People who already know they need regular B12 — for example those diagnosed with pernicious anaemia or B12 deficiency, people who have had certain stomach or bowel surgery, some people following a strict vegan diet long term, and some people on particular long-term medicines that affect absorption.
Every appointment starts with a short consultation. We check your history, any diagnosis or blood results you have, what you are already taking, and whether this service is genuinely appropriate for you. If it isn't, we will say so and point you in the right direction.
No GP appointment needed and no travelling to a clinic. Injections are given by the pharmacist in our private consultation room, usually in a few minutes, and you can arrange your next one before you leave.
There is no good evidence that B12 injections boost energy, aid weight loss or improve wellbeing in people whose levels are already normal. We will not sell you something you do not need — if your symptoms need investigating, the right answer is your GP, and we will tell you that.
Before you book
If you have not been told you are B12 deficient, please speak to your GP first. Tiredness, low mood, pins and needles and brain fog have many possible causes — thyroid problems, iron deficiency, sleep issues and others — and a blood test is the only way to know whether B12 is actually the problem. Starting injections without knowing can mask a deficiency and make it harder to diagnose later.
